Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Torkkeli Jewellery made?

All Torkkeli Jewellery pieces are handcrafted in Jyväskylä, Finland.

Each piece is made to order using carefully selected precious metals, diamonds and gemstones.

How long does delivery take?

Made-to-order jewellery usually has a lead time of approximately 4 weeks.

Ready-to-ship pieces are dispatched within 2 business days of the order.

Is shipping free?

Yes. All orders are shipped free of charge and fully insured.

For deliveries within the European Union, the price includes VAT.

For deliveries outside the European Union, the recipient may be responsible for any applicable customs duties, import taxes, VAT or other local charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included in the purchase price, and Torkkeli Jewellery is not responsible for them.

Can I return an item purchased online?

Collection pieces purchased from our online store are eligible for a 14-day return and exchange period.

This does not apply to engraved, personalised or otherwise custom-made items produced according to the customer’s specifications.

How do I choose the correct ring size?

The most accurate way to determine your ring size is to have your finger professionally measured by a jeweller or to use a dedicated ring sizing tool.

Ring sizing tools are also available from the Torkkeli Jewellery online store.

A correctly sized ring should feel comfortable and secure. It should not slide over the knuckle too easily and should usually require a gentle twisting motion when being removed.

Wider ring designs may require a slightly larger size than narrow or standard-width bands.

Can a ring be resized after purchase?

Many ring designs can be resized.

The first resizing of a ring purchased from the Torkkeli Jewellery online store is free of charge under certain conditions when requested within 30 days of receiving the item.

Complimentary resizing applies to adjustments of up to 0.5 of a size smaller or larger and only to rings whose design and material allow resizing.

Additional charges may apply to engraved rings if the existing engraving needs to be removed and recreated.

Can I order a ring as a surprise if I do not know the exact size?

Yes.

If you are planning a surprise proposal, check whether your partner already owns a ring that fits the intended finger. An existing ring can often be measured to help estimate the correct size.

We are also happy to assist you in determining the most suitable size before placing your order.

Can I have a completely unique piece of jewellery made?

Yes. We design and create bespoke jewellery and custom-made rings based on the customer’s ideas and wishes.

A unique piece can be designed around a particular diamond, gemstone, material, shape, inspiration or personal story.

We create bespoke engagement rings, wedding rings, diamond jewellery and other one-of-a-kind pieces.

Can I customise a piece from your collection?

Many of our collection pieces can be customised, for example by changing the precious metal, diamond, gemstone or certain design details.

Please contact us before placing your order if you would like to customise an existing design. We will be happy to advise you on the options available for the particular piece.

Can you create a new piece using my own gold or diamond?

Yes. We can create new jewellery using your own precious metals, diamonds or gemstones, provided that their condition and properties are suitable for the new design.

Gold and gemstones from an existing or inherited piece can often be incorporated into a new, individually designed piece of jewellery.

We always assess the suitability of the materials and stones before beginning the work.

If you have an existing piece of jewellery, a diamond, gemstone or precious metal that you would like to reuse, please contact us. We will be happy to explore how your materials can become part of something new.

What types of gold do you use?

We use 14k and 18k yellow, white and rose gold.

All the gold used in Torkkeli Jewellery pieces is 100% recycled.

We also work with:

  • 500 palladium
  • 950 platinum
  • 925 sterling silver for selected pieces

Is your jewellery nickel-free?

Yes. All precious metals used in our jewellery are nickel-free.

Do you use natural or lab-grown diamonds?

We offer both natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds.

We also use both natural and laboratory-grown gemstones.

The natural diamonds we use are conflict-free.

Does your jewellery come with a warranty?

Yes. Jewellery manufactured by Torkkeli & Co. Oy comes with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental or impact damage, misuse or other damage resulting from use.

The warranty does not limit the customer’s statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

How should I care for my jewellery?

We recommend storing jewellery separately and avoiding harsh chemicals or situations where the piece may be exposed to heavy impact or mechanical stress.

Jewellery should be removed during heavy physical work or activities that could damage the piece.

Regular cleaning and professional inspection will help keep your jewellery in excellent condition for years to come.
