Some pieces are discovered. Others are created especially for you.

Commissioning a bespoke piece of jewellery gives you the opportunity to shape every detail: the design, precious metal, gemstones, proportions and finish. The process may begin with a clear vision, a few inspiration images or simply an idea of how you want the finished piece to feel.

At Torkkeli Jewellery, we design and create bespoke rings and jewellery around each client’s individual wishes. You do not need to know how your idea should be realised — that is the goldsmith’s role.

From your idea to a one-of-a-kind piece

Creating bespoke jewellery is a collaborative process between you and the goldsmith. We can begin with an entirely blank canvas or draw inspiration from a particular gemstone cut, ring silhouette, existing design or detail that holds personal meaning for you.

You can influence the precious metal, gemstones, dimensions, proportions and finishing details of the piece. Personal design and attentive service are central to the Torkkeli Jewellery experience, and bespoke commissions are one of our core areas of expertise.

How the bespoke jewellery process works

  1. Tell us about your idea.
You are welcome to send inspiration images, sketches or examples of details you admire. A simple initial thought is also enough. Where possible, let us know what type of jewellery you have in mind, which material you prefer and the approximate budget you would like us to work with.
  2. We develop the design with you.
The goldsmith evaluates the concept, proportions, structure and most suitable materials. At this stage, we can consider details such as the shade of gold, gemstone type, diamond cut, setting style and ring width.
  3. We create a detailed 3D model.
You will receive an accurate digital model showing the form, gemstones and proportions of the piece before it is made. The Torkkeli Jewellery bespoke design service includes up to three rounds of revisions to the model.
  4. The design is refined.
The model can be adjusted before final approval. The aim is not merely to create a beautiful image, but a piece whose proportions, comfort, durability and construction work beautifully in everyday use.
  5. The piece is handcrafted.
Once the design has been approved, the goldsmith creates the jewellery according to the agreed dimensions, materials and final specifications.

What kind of jewellery can be made to order?

A bespoke commission may be an engagement ring, wedding ring, diamond ring, coloured gemstone ring, pendant or another one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery.

Bespoke design is particularly valuable when you admire different details in several pieces but cannot find the right combination in an existing design. You may love the gemstone cut in one ring, the band profile of another and the setting style of a third.

A bespoke piece allows these elements to be brought together in a balanced and coherent design, rather than requiring you to compromise with an off-the-shelf or mass-produced model.

Precious metals and gemstones

Material choices form an essential part of the design process. The character of a piece can change significantly depending on whether it is created in yellow, white or rose gold and which gemstone is selected.

When designing a diamond ring, we can consider the size, quality and cut of the diamond. In addition to the classic round brilliant cut, options may include oval, emerald, cushion, princess, pear and marquise-cut diamonds.

What if I do not have a finished design?

You do not need one.

Many bespoke pieces begin with something very simple: a particular gemstone, a single inspiration image or the feeling the jewellery is intended to convey.

It is equally helpful to tell us what you do not like. This helps us refine the possibilities and understand your preferences more clearly.

The goldsmith’s role is to translate your ideas into a technically sound, beautifully proportioned and harmonious piece of jewellery.

How much does bespoke jewellery cost?

The final price of a bespoke piece is determined by the design, precious metals, gemstones and the complexity of the craftsmanship involved. For this reason, bespoke jewellery does not usually have one fixed price.

The current fee for Torkkeli Jewellery’s bespoke design service is €300. The fee includes a detailed 3D model and up to three rounds of revisions.

When you proceed with the jewellery order, the full design fee is credited towards the final purchase price.
